"DADDY's HOME"!She jumps up in her crate, anticipateing his arival. Just then like a slow motion entrence in a sappy teen movie. He came in the room.
"HEY BABY"! her dad says.Lola Does her usual "let me out"! scratch at the crate. I let her out, and she tears into her living room.
"Gotta go, Gotta Go, Gotta go"I put the lease on Lola, and as I pull the door closed behind me, She Nearly pulls my arm out of the socket. Normaly she and I just go out so she can take care of her buissness, but today was diffrent, and Lola knew it. She took off towards the lake. Not even stopping to take care of her buissness like she normally does.
We head down towards the lake, then, before I know what hit me.
"DUUUUUUUUUUUCKS"!!!Lola and I take off towards the ducks. sending them in a quacking frantic. The ducks come to a rest on the frozen patch of ice which used to be the lake.
"Dern" thought Lola, " to late again"
We walk around the lake, Lola stopping to smell, what I can only imagine as "other Dogs having marked their teritory" at EVERY OTHER bush. We felt especially brave on this walk, and decided to walk down close to the ice/water. The lake (which is the size of a parking lot) was frozen on all sides with a small unfrozen section in the middle where all the ducks had now gathered. Lola was whimpering wanting to go after them. She takes one step on the inch thick pack of ice, and quickly pulls her paw away
"Woah, almost had wet dog"We walked back up to the house, walked in, took off her leash, Lola shook off, made 3 circles around her soft red bed, and layed down. Her eyes closed, and as she started to drift off, thought...those crazy ducks. They've lived another day, but their day is near. She then dosed off.
